Pupil Premium

Our priorities

We use Pupil Premium funding to:

  • Improve language development, reading and writing for disadvantaged pupils.

  • Strengthen attendance and punctuality for pupils at risk of persistent absence.

  • Support wellbeing and readiness to learn, so every child can thrive.

Key activities

This year we are investing in:

  • Phonics and reading interventions – to close gaps in early literacy.

  • Speech & language groups – to boost oral language and vocabulary.

  • Nurture Farm provision – therapeutic and outdoor learning for SEMH needs.

  • ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support) – targeted wellbeing sessions.

  • Forest School sessions – building confidence, teamwork and resilience.

  • Attendance & family support – helping families overcome barriers.

  • Free/subsidised uniform and school visits – removing cost barriers to inclusion.

  • Food hampers for families in need – supporting attendance and wellbeing.

Impact so far

In 2024/25, this funding helped us to:

  • Improve reading fluency and close gaps in early literacy.

  • Increase disadvantaged pupils’ participation in extra-curricular activities.

  • Strengthen wellbeing, behaviour and readiness to learn through Nurture, ELSA and Forest School.

  • Ensure all pupils could take part in visits and trips, regardless of financial circumstances.

  • Support families in need with food hampers, which contributed to improved attendance and engagement.
