Safeguarding at St Paul’s
At St Paul’s, safeguarding is rooted in our Christian vision: “Learning in God’s Love.”
We believe every child is made in the image of God and deserves to flourish in safety and dignity. Safeguarding is therefore not just a statutory duty, but a core expression of our values of Courage, Compassion and Community.
St Paul’s CofE Primary School & Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We want to work in partnership with parents and carers. We will share successes with you and discuss with you any concerns we may have, recognising that children thrive when school and home work together in trust.
Since our first priority is your child’s welfare, there may be rare occasions when our concern about your child means that we have to consult other agencies, even before we contact you. The procedures we follow are laid down by the Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership, and our Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy is fully aligned with these guidelines.
Our approach to safeguarding reflects our values:
-
Courage – We empower children to speak up and stand firm if something feels wrong.
-
Compassion – We act with care and kindness, supporting every child and family.
-
Community – We work closely with parents, governors, and external partners to keep all children safe.
